Differences between EFT & credit cards.

In this article we will look at what EFT and credit card payments and refunds look like in your Dineplan account.

Credit Card Payment & Refunds:

When guests use their credit/debit card to pay for their reservation, it will be displayed as 'credit card' on the payment method. Next to the payment method, an orange block labeled "refund" is available to initiate refunds due to guests.

However, it's important to note that refunds can only be sent back to the credit card used for payment and cannot be sent to a different card within the Dineplan system.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Payment & Refunds:

As for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Payment and Refunds, the payment method will be displayed as EFT when guests use this option. Unlike credit card payments, there is no way to trace where the funds originated from, making it impossible to initiate a refund within Dineplan if the guest used EFT to pay.

If a guest requests a refund and has paid via EFT, it is up to the restaurant to contact them and request their bank account details. The refund will then have to be actioned on the restaurant's side, directly to the guest's bank account through an EFT.

The image below displays what an EFT payment looks like.

Please be advised that Dineplan does not initiate any refunds (credit card or EFT) on behalf of the restaurant. Refunds owed to guests are the sole responsibility of the restaurant.
